Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC 3 and RegistryBooster 2
Keeping your computer tidy also includes keeping your OS running at peak performance. Many times a computer maybe filled with unnecessary files as well as registry entries that bloat the OS; causing slowdowns. Tonight we’ll take a look at a registry cleaning/optimizer software, RegistryBooster 2 from Uniblue that will clean your registry as well as any junk files that you have accumulated in your computer. Since 2003, Uniblue has been provding computer security and performance solutions. Let’s take a look first at Uniblue’s RegistryBooster 2. As the name states, this app will boost your registry. It does this by deep scanning registry entries for errors and conflicts. Using RegistryBooster 2 is very straight forward. The interface design is very user intuitive making it easy to navigate around the application. After you the application scans your registry, it lists all the errors it has encountered, letting you review what the application has found. Before cleaning the registry, the application allows you to make a full or a partial backup of your registry. There is also a restore feature which RegistryBooster 2 uses. It’s sorted by date the backup was made and this allows you to restore the registry at whatever point you wish as long as a back up is created. After you’ve completed your scans, a restart is required. After we did our reboot, we immediately noticed our boot up time became a bit faster by about two to three seconds. That might not sound much, but in terms of boot up times three seconds shaved on boot up is a lot. It also has file clean up capabilities, allowing you scan for junk files and program fragments that collect overt time, reducing the computer’s performance. For the memory optimization, the application allows you to free up RAM. It features a graph showing the memory usage in every minute or every hour. The CPU optimization is very similar to the memory recovery. It features an application booster, allowing you to select specific application to assign more resources to increase its performance. The disk optimization is a monitoring tool, that let’s you check your hard disk’s I/O efficiency. There is also an optimizer for your internet which allows you to monitor your current bandwidth usage and enhance your connection settings to improve upload and download speeds. And finally, SpeedUpMyPC also allows you to edit applications that auto-starts when Windows boots. This will reduce your start up time making your boot up time faster. We found the two utilities from Uniblue to be very useful.
Not only our test computer is free from registry errors, it’s also now noticeably faster. RegistryBooster 2’s features are very useful. The scans and deep cleaning it does, removes the clutter your computer may have accumulated over time. SpeedUpMyPC is also very handy, its ability to optimize critical parts of your OS makes the application a must have. If you’re feeling your computer is slowing down, we highly recommend that you to take a look at Uniblue’s software offerings.
