Hardware Review
Sigma Luna Type W Case
The market for PC cases is as big as ever. Manufacturers try to release cases with unique designs or add-ons to help promote their name and product. We've looked at many cases here at Unique Rigs. Tonight we'll take a look at a case from Sigma the Luna case. We would like to thank the Sigma team for making this review possible.
When we review a case, we look at several things to evaluate a manufacturer’s chassis. We look at how well the case is design, features, overall layout and it's uniqueness to other cases out in the market. The Luna case is a mid-tower chassis offering from Sigma. The sample we received was the black windowed version. Let's take a look at the case externally. The case is made up mainly of brushed aluminum which also includes the front panel. Behind the front panel door, the Luna sports two USB ports as well as your standard audio jacks. The Luna can also hold up to five 5.25" drive as well. With the exception of the front panel, the Luna's paint finish is not that great, especially the side and top panels. The side and top panels did not match well with the shinny finish of the front panel. We also found a few bent areas on the panels.
Let's now take a look at the case internally. Looking inside, the Luna has roomy interiors, too bad there's no motherboard tray. It can hold up to three 3.5" drives as well as 7 agp/pci expansion slots with a click lock tool less design. The case will hold your standard ATX motherboard as well as any standard PSUs. The front panel cables are also very well labeled for the Luna. The chassis also sports a tool-less design for drive installations, which we found very useful.

Motherboard and component installations were very straight forward. The over all finish of the interiors was excellent, with no sharp edges. Overall we would've liked to have seen a removable motherboard tray for the case. We also would've like to have seen a better paint finish on the side panels to match the shinny front door of the chassis. We did however really like the tool less locking features for the expansion cards as well as for the drives. With a nice design and an effective implementation of a tool less design, we give the Luna case a score of 7 out of 10.
Pros:
Aluminum Construction
Roomy Interiors
Nice aluminum front panel
Cons:
Paint finish on the side and top panel could have been better
No motherboard tray
No PSU included
