GELID Cooling Kit
Proper cooling prolongs the internal parts inside you computer. The air flow inside your PC is very important in the day to day operation of your PC. Think of the inside components of your PC as the engine of car. In order for it to run properly, it has to be adequately cooled to prevent over heating. If your parts overheats, for sure it will be prone to crashes. Maintaining a properly cooled case is very easy, you just have to get the proper parts. Tonight we'll take a look at a cooling kit from our friends from GELID Solutions. We would like to thank the GELID team for making this review possible.

For this review, GELID was kind enough to send as a set of their 80 mm, 92 mm, 120 mm gamer fan as well as a their GC-Extreme and GC-2 thermal compounds. Let's take a look at the thermal compounds first. Thermal compounds are used on CPUs. They are placed in between the CPU and the CPU cooler to provide proper contact to each other. This is very crucial in maintaining proper heat transfer from the CPU to the CPU cooler. We will compare these two thermal paste to a generic white thermal paste. In the package, GELID also included a paste applicator to easily apply the thermal paste onto your CPU with little mess. We used our sample unit with our Intel E6750 test CPU. We compared the three thermal paste at a normal clocked E6750 at 2.66 GHz and at an over clocked speed of 3.6GHz. Here are our test result:
The GELID thermal compound worked very well based in our results. The CPU was three to four degrees cooler with the GELID compound compared to the generic no name thermal paste. The GC Extreme cooled our E6750 the best with a CPU temperature at 3.6GHz at only 43 degrees. When installing your new CPU, don't overlook the use of a very good thermal paste. This compound will help ensure your CPU is effectively touching your CPU cooler, thus making it more stable.
Let us now talk about air flow inside your computer. The air flow in your PC can be maintained by using internal case fans. You must make sure that sufficient cool air is coming from the outside and that the hotter air inside is taken out. The Wing gamer fans looks very sleek. The samples we received were the neon green colour, installed on a black plastic frame. Mounting dampeners are used to secure the fans onto your case to decrease vibration of the fans while spinning. The dampeners themselves are made of jelly like material, which what makes the fan vibrates not as much. GELID also included a fan speed controller, so you're able to control how fast the fans spin. For testing, we installed the three GELID fan into our Cooler Master ATCS 840. We then took the ambient temperature inside the case with the fan turned off and on. Here are the results:

The ambient temperature inside the case goes up about 6 degrees more when there are no fans turned on inside the case. An increase of six degrees is huge. Temperatures should still go up as the temperature on the memory modules and CPU increases. With the use of the fans, the ambient temperature in the case is much more within normal. Make sure to clean your fans at least once a month to avoid dust clogging your fans and getting into critical areas.
These products from GELID are very nice add ons in your PCs interior. If you're looking for added cooling for your, PC give these cooling solutions a look. The thermal pastes nicely cooled down our CPU while the Wing fans cooled our case's interior. The fans were also very silent, even when you set it at the maximum settings. We give both the GELID Wing Fans, the GC-2 and the GC-Extreme a score of 9 out of 10 and our recommendation.
