NZXT Cryo LX
NZXT has joined the laptop cooling market with the release of the Cryo LX. Though not a necessity, some laptops these days run tremendously very hot. With laptop parts becoming comparable to their desktop counterparts, heat becomes a factor especially with the parts being in closed enclosure. Tonight we'll take a look at NZXT's newest laptop cooler in their product line. We would like to thank the NZXT team for making this review possible.

Looking at it at first sight, the NZXT design is well invoked in the Cryo. Clean design, effective cooling and excellent layout. Let's take a further look at the NZXT Cryo. Our sample came in a NZXT retail box. The Cryo cooler is massive, not only it sports 3 cooling fans, but you can also place your nineteen inch laptop easily and it will have no heating issues. The housing is entirely made of aluminum for proper heat dissipation. NZXT also has placed rubber tops on top of the Cryo to prevent laptops from slipping. One thing we noticed about the Cryo is that the unit folds a third of the way through.
Though it's foldable, I'm not quite sure if it's portable enough to carry around. A case or bag could have helped carry this cooler around, making it a bit more easier to travel with. The Cryo LX cooled down our test laptop very well with the help of three 120mm speed adjustable fans, even when the notebook was turned on for two consecutive days. The fan control is just located at the right hand side of the cooler. All three fans were very silent as well throughout our testing even at the maximum setting. Another cool addtion to the Cryo LX are the four USB ports located just at the back of the cooler. Not only you're getting a laptop cooler, you're also getting a USB hub with the Cryo LX.

We can say for sure that NZXT always brings its "A" game when it comes to designs. Their PC cases are designed uniquely which sets them apart from other manufacturers. The designs of the Cryo are uniquely NZXT. From the layout, functionality and cooling prowess, the Cryo LX is a must have if you have a laptop that is a desktop replacement. Though it may not be very suitable for transport, the Cryo LX is a very good choice for a cooling solution for your notebook. We give the Cryo LX a score of 8 out 10 and our Unique Rigs recommendation.
