Vizo Ares
Hard drive accessories are not very commonly used. But if you're serious PC enthusiasts, hard drive accessories should be very common for you. From external enclosures, coolers, silencers as well drive racks. Tonight we'll sample a SATA mobile drive rack from Vizo, the Ares. We would like to thank the Vizo team for making this review possible.
Mobile racks are commonly used to easily switch hard drives from one computer to another or to just swap hard drives. If you're planning on dual booting an operating system between two hard drives without opening up your case, this accessory is a very good solution. Let's take a look at the Ares more in depth. Looking at the Ares, it’s very well built. Aluminum casing feels sturdy and fits nicely on the mounting rack. Vizo included a well designed locking arm to easily install and remove the mobile tray for the hard drives. Inside, Vizo also included a cooling fan to keep the hard drive nice and cool during operation. Installation is very easy. The hard drive is secured within the tray with screws provided. Once the hard drive is installed, the tray secures in nicely onto the rack. The Ares can be powered two ways, a Molex connector or a SATA power cable can be used. The mobile rack also sports a power and activity LEDs to let you know that the drive is functioning.

Our hard drive was relatively cool throughout our testing. The aluminum casing a fan cooler behind the hard drive, heat dissipation is excellent. If you're looking to install drives often on your system and don't want to keep opening your case, the Ares is a very good solution. Solid design, easy installation and adequate cooling makes this mobile rack a good buy. Overall, we give the Vizo Ares a score of 8 out of 10.
