Hardware Review
NZXT Adamas Case
We occasionally get sent gaming cases for review from various manufacturers. Whenever we get in an NZXT case in our lab, we can’t help but be excited when we open the packaging. NZXT has released several eye-catching cases in the past and tonight we’re treated to another one, the Adamas. We would like to thank the NZXT team for making this review possible.
We have reviewed several cases from NZXT before. However, this is the first time we'll be reviewing an HTPC case. The NZXT Duet is designed to be both vertical and horizontal positioning. Now let's take a closer look on the case.
What sets NZXT differently from other case manufacturers, is their unique designs. With PC gamers and PC enthusiasts in mind, NZXT has catered their designs for these users. The Adamas case is part of NZXT’s Classic Series line. Now let’s take a closer look at the Case. The mid-tower Adamas is mainly made of Aluminum and its sports a patented tool-less technology for the front and side panels. Below is a more detailed specs sheet for the Adamas:

Just by looking at the case out of the box, we were already very impressed on how it looked. The Aluminum shell is very stylish. We also noticed the unique locking system for its side panel. For cooling, the Adamas can support up to 4 120mm fans, two on the side panel and one each on the front and rear of the case. Looking at the back exterior of the case, the rear panel is also painted with the nice black finish. To remove the front panel, the Adamas also features a unique locking system. The front ports are just located at the bottom of the exposed 3.5” drive bay. The front ports include your standard connections, two USB 2.0, Firewire and audio jacks.

Looking inside, the case is very spacious for a mid-tower case. It can hold up to ten drive bays, which consist of four external 5.25”, one external 3.5”, and five internal 5.25”. It also has seven available expansion slots for the motherboard. The motherboard area is very easily accessible. Though we would’ve really liked to see a removable motherboard tray with the case. A clear side panel would’ve also been a good option with the case design. What can we say, we just do like see through windows in our side panels.
Overall, we really liked the design on the Adamas. The quality of construction is very sturdy and the finish is very refined. We really like the black finish that extends all the way to the back of the case. We also did not come across any sharp edges on the outside and inside of the case. The locking mechanism on the side panels and the front panel are also very unique. We do know that we’ve been spoiled with see through side panel, but the side panel is just crying to get a window. Maybe it’s just us. We give the NZXT Adamas a score of 8 out of 10 and our Unique Rigs recommendation.
Pros:
Nice paint finish
Very roomy for a mid-tower case
Unique side and front panel locking system
Cons:
No removable motherboard tray
